Acne rosacea is one of the problems that young adults face nowadays. Adults at the age of 30’s to 40’s are still prone to the attack of acne. Acne at this stage is called acne rosacea, which is quite difficult to handle. However, acne rosacea only happens to the minority of adults in that stage which most of them went through the ‘acne experience’ in their teens.
Acne rosacea is difficult to be treated due to two different conditions that arise at the same time. To make things worse, when one of the conditions is treated; the medication used can cause irritation and flare-up. Area of the skins that is affected by rosacea is quite sensitive to condition that expands the pores (vasodilation) such as direct sunlight, hot temperature, hot showers, saunas, alcohol and spicy foods. In this stage, foods that provoke rosacea should be avoided ultimately to ensure the problem is not serious than before.
Vasidolation can increase the skin temperature by 0.2 degree Celsius which increases the growth of bacteria that causes acne. Propionibacterium acne or P. acnes generates an enzyme called ‘lipases’ that irritates oils that are released by oil glands under the skin. When this situation arises, our skin will be irritated, inflamed and leads to rosacea flare-up which promotes acne. By washing the face within 20 minutes after activities that causes vasidolation, chances of acne inflammation reduce to a controllable condition.
As for initial stage of rosacea flare-up, it involves inflammatory or ‘histamines’ which is produced by the skin. Symptoms that follow up are redness, puffiness and itching occasionally. Skin inflammatory or ‘cytokines’ such as interleukin-1, interleukin-6 and interferon-alpha which involves histamines if combined can cause a full-flare up. Green tea contains nutrients that can stop histamines production and inflammatory of cytokines and hereby stopping full flare up from happening.
Scientist had done some research about acne rosacea which we had a little understanding about its causes. However, they manage to link the relationship between intestinal bacteria and rosacea. This theory is still not confirmed but scientists are doing rapid research on this matter. Zinc deficiency can be blamed for severe to mild acne and always linked with rosacea acne. It is advisable to take at lease 20 -25 mg of zinc or multivitamin to ensure this condition does not happen.
Adult acne or rosacea acne may one day pop out right under your nose, thus the knowledge that are gained from this article may be beneficial. Acne Rosacea is still a new phenomenon and still undergoing research to find the cause and hopefully a permanent cure.
Although rosacea is commonly known as acne rosacea, it is not actually acne. The symptoms are similar to acne and are frequently mistaken for it (both conditions can have pimples and bumps but with rosecea there are no blackheads and whiteheads).
Because treatments for both these conditions differ and can adversely affect recovery, it is important to know which type of complaint actually affects you.
Some rosacea myths are:
If you have acne as a teenager you will get rosecea as an adult ? WRONG!
Rosacea is often referred to as adult acne but there is no direct link between the two conditions, Rosacea is a vascular condition where blood rushes to the face and acne is a bacterial/skin pore condition
Acne rosacea is contagious ? WRONG!
Neither rosacea or acne can be transmitted from person to person. Bacteria on the individual’s face can complicate and worsen both acne or rosecea but its far from contagious.
What you eat causes rosacea ? WRONG!
Research has shown that what you eat has no direct influence on any type of acne or rosacea. However toxins or allergies in foods can trigger outbreaks.

Antibiotics for skin with acne work on several levels. They can help by decreasing the number of bacteria around and in the follicle. Also they reduce the chemicals produced by white blood cells . Finally, they help to get rid of excess fatty acids in the oils produced by your skin, which also reduces inflammation.
Some antibiotics for skin that are frequently prescribed include Tetracycline which is the most commonly prescribed antibiotic for acne.
Erythromycin is also highly prescribed and has anti inflammatory properties and can be taken on an full stomach unlike tetracycline above.
Doxycycline is the alternative to erythomycin and tetracycline if they appear not to work or cannot be tolerated. This medication can cause more sensitivity to the sun.
Clindamycin is usually prescribed as a cream rather then orally as the above antibiotics are.
Unfortunately all antibiotics can cause yeast infections and reduce the effective of birth control pills in women.
