Non Oily Cosmetics

Non oily cosmetics also known as as non-comedogenic cosmetics have been tested on human volunteers or on the inside of a rabbits ear. Always check the labels on cosmetics to see if products tested on animals bothers you. These types of cosmetics are less likely to cause blackheads and whiteheads.

No single product will work for everyone so it is best to test a product on your hand rather than looking at the label or by plastering it all over your skin.

Lots of foundations are created as non oily cosmetics. Some foundations designed for acne prone skin have to be shaken well before use as the color settles at the bottom and a clear solution is at the top. This type of foundation is not very thick and gives poor coverage.

Foundations with titanium dioxide, starch and kaolin have better coverage and won’t cause acne. Also foundations with 1 to 2 percent of salicylic acid can be beneficial to people prone to acne.

Other considerations include choosing cleansers and moisturizers that are relevant to your skin type and won’t end up drying the skin too much.
