There are oil free concealers especially designed to cover up blemishes and spots available so it would be probably best to invest in one if you think you might need it on a regular basis. They usually also contain drying properties that reduce both inflammation and oiliness.
First, you must select a color suited to your skin. Remember, anything too dark or too light will only highlight what you are tying to cover up.
If the spot is a little inflamed and red you will also need to purchase a green tinted concealer to apply before the blemish cover.
When covering the spot with concealer, it is better to use a brush than your fingers because first of all they are too large for delicate application and secondly could transfer more bacteria onto the spot. When you have covered the spot, carry on with your foundation and regular make-up.
Oil free concealers should not be used under or around the eyes as these products have a drying effect.
